Ztail on eBay and the Secondary Market at Shop.org Summit |
| Sun Oct 4 2009 15:40:32 |
AuctionBytes editor Ina Steiner sat down with Ztail co-founder and CEO Bill Hudak during the recent Shop.org Summit in Las Vegas to talk about trends in the secondary market. The topic was top-of-mind at the conference this year, with a keynote from eBay CEO John Donahoe and a panel session with executives from Woot.com and the Gilt Groupe (Gilt.com). Consumers know they can get value out of their purchases, which should mean more sales in both the primary and secondary markets, Bill said. He talks about Ztail's model, which puts a unique spin on trade-ins by guaranteeing resale prices at the point of purchase, and said refurbishing returns and trade-ins offer opportunities for PowerSellers. As for retailers and manufacturers, they should not be afraid, he said: discount shopping can build brand awareness and loyalty for their brands. Listen to the full interview taped during the 2009 Shop.org Summit. Run time: 11:14
